Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Half Arm Wax.

For best results, hair should be about 1/4 inch (6mm) long so the wax can grip effectively. If hair is shorter or much longer, we can trim or advise timing during your appointment.

Most clients feel brief discomfort rather than sharp pain. Breathing, relaxing muscles, and experienced technicians help minimize sensation. We can offer pre-wax numbing and post-wax soothing treatments if you need extra comfort.

Typical regrowth calls for waxing every 4–6 weeks, though timing varies with individual hair cycles. Book when hairs are long enough for the wax to grab, and we’ll recommend a schedule tailored to your growth.

Avoid waxing sunburned or freshly tanned skin; wait at least 48–72 hours after tanning to prevent irritation. For sensitive skin we perform a patch test and use gentler waxes and calming aftercare.

Do not shave between waxing appointments—shaving interferes with root removal. Instead, gently exfoliate a few times weekly to prevent ingrown hairs and keep skin smooth, and maintain good moisturization.

Contraindications include open wounds, active skin infections, recent chemical peels, strong retinoid use, or recent Accutane. If you have diabetes, take blood thinners, or severe sensitivities, consult our technician first.
